NCARD’s former Director Professor Anna Nowak, now Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) at the University of Western Australia (UWA), has been featured as the first guest on a newly-launched podcast hosted by UWA.
Research on the Record is a podcast series that will interview women in research across a broad range of disciplines and career stages. It will highlight their accomplishments, projects, challenges, and their views on gender equity in academia.
In Prof Nowak’s appearance, she talks about her current mesothelioma research with NCARD, in particular the exciting ongoing DREAM3R chemo-immunotherapy trial (@ 11:50).
In addition, she reflects on the unique challenges of balancing parenthood and academia, and offers some advice to researchers (especially women!) looking to follow the same path.
NCARD is glad to celebrate Prof Nowak’s success, and we proudly reaffirm our commitment to supporting all our colleagues in their professional development and research careers. We are fortunate to be 66% women, a figure that includes admin, research assistants, lab managers, students, research leaders, and both our current Directors.
