Kofi is a molecular biologist with a passion for developing new treatments for cancer. He completed his PhD in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology at Curtin University. His research focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms that adapt to cellular stress, with a focus on how protein folding is regulated during REDOX stress.
Kofi joined NCARD in 2021. He is developing novel techniques to epigenetically enhance the expression of genes important for immunotherapy responses in mesothelioma. In 2023, he received the Young Investigator Award at the International Mesothelioma Interest Group conference for this work.
Currently Kofi’s work is focused on developing new adjunct treatments to improve current first line therapies in mesothelioma. These include metal based therapies, novel inhibitors of stress and epigenetic based treatments.
