Nicola graduated with Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) in 2018. She continued her studies with a PhD in tumour immunology where she characterised the role of the effective anti-cancer T cell immunity in chemotherapy and immunotherapy combinations.
Nicola’s current research focuses on identifying new immunotherapy combinations to bring to the mesothelioma clinic and repurposing lipidomic targeting agents (such as statins) to improve immunotherapy.
Nicola is also one of the founders of the Kindness in Science initiative, aimed to support researchers to improve lab sustainability, science communication, mental health and build diverse and equitable research labs.
